Jantu Caribbean

Jantu Caribbean is where you can get all the news, general, business and miscellaneous information.  It is a hodgepodge of what is going on in the Caribbean.  The events to go to, restaurants to eat at, real estate, wheeling and dealings, bakers, plumbers etc.  It will be light or heavy, it is all about everyday life in the tropics.

As well as writing about an island every other week, featuring general information, learn about their history, culture, dishes even recipes and about the people on the Island.  The launch of Jantu Caribbean Review on August 1, 2011 is only fitting as it is Emancipation Day celebrated in  St Lucia, Barbados, Bermuda, Guyana, Jamaica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos.  And celebrated on the 1st Monday of August in Anguilla, Bahamas, St Kitts and Nevis and Dominica.

NOTE:    Wikipedia: The Slavery Abolition Act 1833 ended slavery in the British Empire on August 1, 1834. Emancipation Day is widely observed in the British West Indies during the first week of August. In many Caribbean countries the Emancipation Day celebration is a part of Carnival, as the Caribbean Carnival takes place at this time (although Carnaval in Trinidad and Tobago takes place in February or March according to Ash Wednesday, not near August[1]).

HAPPY EMANCIPATION DAY EVERYBODY
